Success Story Carraway Village Assemblage
Chapel Hill, NC
Goal
Assemble an excess of twenty (20) acres at the intersection of I-40 and MLK Jr. Parkway which would qualify for mixed use development in accordance with the Town of Chapel Hill zoning ordinance. Hold until public utilities become available and the property then becomes developable.
Approach
Executed a joint venture agreement with the ECU Real Estate Foundation who owned sixteen (16) acres and I negotiated an option to purchase an additional twenty (20) contiguous acres.
Results
After several years of patient waiting , a purchase and sale agreement was negotiated with a prominent developer. Northwood Ravin secured approval for a Class A mixed use community known as Carraway Village. Today it includes 600 + apartments plus associated office and retail highlighted by Chic-Fil-A , Starbucks and UNC Health.
